Overview. Over the years, more than 415 students have studied and performed under the direction of dozens of faculty members. FCMF has hosted guest ensembles and artists, with performances reaching audiences at universities, churches, and other public venues across Central Arkansas. Eight years ago, FCMF merged with the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock, which now oversees all festival activities.
Program. Performance is at the core of a musician's education. Students experience a rigorous yet supportive learning environment that culminates in numerous opportunities to perform for each other and for the public. They receive coachings for several hours each day, as well as participate in sessions that explore music from every angle. Students learn from each other, and make friendships that last a lifetime.
Location. Rehearsals, concerts, and educational activities take place in the Center for Humanities and Arts (CHARTS) on the UA-Pulaski Technical campus in North Little Rock. This camp is intended for students with at least three years of playing experience. Feel free to inquire about the camp's appropriateness.
Studying and performing chamber music offers a unique opportunity for students to practice their instrument, while interacting with other musicians and discovering some of the greatest music ever written.
The Faulkner Chamber Music Festival's 2026 series will feature an exciting mix of performances from students, guest artists, and faculty. The performances and workshops truly en the camp experience for students!
The festival boasts a distinguished faculty of professional classical musicians who work with students in small group settings. The intensive environment created by our faculty challenges and inspires students.
Faculty give students historical and musical foundations for understanding and preparing their performance pieces.
In learning repertoire and preparing for performance, students learn how to effectively express their ideas, collaborate, and compromise.
Masterclasses give ensembles a chance to perform and get instant feedback from faculty on how to improve their performance.
